在教学定语从句时，我发现学生老是不知道用关系代词还是关系副词，或者不知道哪个介词加上which/whom.
我认为其实有一个最简单易行的方法，就是把先行词接到从句谓语(动词或be+adj)后面去，不需要介词便可直接组成短语则引导词需用关系代词；不可直接组成短语则再根据语义确定需要哪一个介词，如果“介词+which”表示的是“在某时”“在某地”或“由于某原因”则还可分别替换为关系副词when/where/why。如：
1. I will never forget the days __________I spent in Beijing.
2. I went back to the place __________I spent my childhood in Beijing.
3. I don"t like the book _____________ I spent ten yuan.
按此法，1句中把the days放到spent后不需要加介词就可直接构成短语spent the days，故要填关系代词that/which (先行词作宾语还可省略that/which）；2句中把the place放到spent后不可直接构成短语spent the place，根据语义spend my childhood(度过我的童年)___ the place知介词要用in,故填关系in which或where（此处表示“在某地”)；2句中把the book放到spent后不可直接构成短语spent thebook，根据语义spentten yuan(花了十元钱）___ the book知介词要用on,故填on which(此处不表“在某地”故不能替换为where)
又如：4. He referred me to some reference books ______ which I am not very familiar.
5. My glasses,_________ ________I was like a blind man, fell to the ground and broke.
按上述方法，4句组成短语be familiar____ some reference books,再结合语义知应该填with，故答案为with which。5句结合语义知需组成短语I waslike a blind man without my glasses,故填without which。
