英语语法：短语add to adhere to的用法

动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

5. add to增加用法：add to一般强调“增加”的结果，后面一般接名词。

例句：Still others emphasize the roleof race, arguing that foreigners add to the nation’s fears and insecurities. (6月六级)

还有人强调种族的作用，认为外国人会增加国家的恐惧和不安全性。

语法结构分析：Still是状语， others是主语， emphasize是谓语， the role of race是宾语，其中of race是后置定语, arguing that foreigners add tothe nation’s fears and insecurities是-ing式词组作状语，that 引导定语从句，foreigners是从句的主语， add to是谓语， the nation’s fears and insecurities是宾语。

6. adhere to坚持，粘合

用法：adhere to中的to是介词，而不是不定式标志，其后常接名词或者动名词。

例句：Without the soap, the glue will adhere to your hand all the time.

如果不使用肥皂，这种胶水会一直黏在手上。

7. admit to承认

用法：admit to还表示“让……进入，参与”等，介词to后面通常跟名词或者动名词形式。

例句：No one dares to admit tothe mistake in the face of the boss’s anger.

面对老板的怒火，没人敢承认这个错误。

8. agree on在……上达成一致

用法：agree on sth表示“同意某事”，agree on sb表示“同意某人的看法”。

例句：If there is no meter in the taxi, agree on a price before you get in. (6月四级)

如果出租车里没有计价器，那么在你上车之前商定价格。
